Iannis Xenakis' Diatope, created in 1978, was housed in a large, red, steel-supported tent in front of the Centre Pompidou in Paris. The public sat on a plexiglass floor, lit from below. Each show was about 45 minutes and consisted of lasers whizzing through the space, pinpoint lights, and music coming from everywhere.
